Use
Preparing the mask: Open the straps of the harness as far as they will
go. Place the carrier strap around your neck, and button it into the top
head strap fastening.
Fitting the mask: Beards and sideburns in
the sealing area of the face mask will cause
leaks. Therefore the full-face mask should not
be used by anyone with facial hair of this sort.
Spectacle frames in the sealing area also
cause leaks. Use special mask goggles.
Unbutton the carrier strap. Place chin in chin-
piece.
Fit the harness over the head, pulling back
until the head strap fits smoothly. Adjust mask
until it fits properly.
1 Tighten neck straps evenly
2 Tighten temple straps evenly
3 If necessary, in particular if the wearer's
head is small, also tighten the top head
strap.
Leak test: Seal off the mask connector and breathe in until negative
pressure (suction) is generated. Hold your breath for a moment. The
negative pressure should be maintained. If not, retighten the straps.
Repeat the leak test twice. Never use a mask that leaks!
Exhalation valve check: Seal off the mask connector and exhale
vigorously. The exhaled air must be able to escape without obstruction.
If not, see "Visual inspection of exhalation valve".

Operation with respiratory filter
Preconditions: The ambient air must contain at least 17 Vol.% oxygen.
Do not enter non-ventilated containers, pits, drains etc. with filter
devices. The type of pollutant must be known, and the appropriate
respiratory filter must be used.
Screw in the respiratory filter: Fully remove the sealing strips and
screw the respiratory filter in firmly by turning it clockwise.
Operating time: The permitted intervention time depends on various
factors, including the type and concentration of pollutant and the type
of filter.
Extreme operating conditions:
In case of low temperatures: Protect the inside of the visor with
"klar-pilot" anti-misting gel to prevent it from fogging up
In case of high temperatures: If the visor is damaged, leave the
danger zone immediately.
In the presence of chemicals: Certain substances such as H
phosgene may be absorbed by the materials of the full-face mask,
especially silicone, or may diffuse through it.
In explosion-hazard areas: Treat the full-face mask with antistatic
spray or work with a screen of mist water.
After use
Remove demand valves or respiratory filter
1)

Removing mask: Insert your index finger
behind the tabs on the neck straps and press
the clamping buckles forward with your
thumb while at the same time pulling the mask
off your face and back over your head.

Only use authorised cleaning and disinfecting agents.
Cleaning: The mask must be cleaned after every use. Do not use any
solvents such as acetone, alcohol etc. Clean the mask with a cloth and
lukewarm water mixed with all-purpose detergent, e.g. Sekusept
