Insert the socket contacts of the orange/green, orange/brown and black/violet wire ends of the 9-
wire wiring harness into the now free chamber 16 (orange/green), chamber 17 (orange/brown)
and chamber 14 (black/violet) and click into place. Reinsert the connector strips back into the
housing casing, lock into place and then use a 140 mm cable tie to secure them.
Plug the 3-way black and 4-way brown pin housing of the wiring harness into the previously fitted 3-
way black and 4-way brown socket housings, click into place and then use a 140 mm cable tie to
secure them to the vehicle's wiring harness.
Route all of the installation kit's wiring harnesses along the vehicle's wiring harnesses,
secure them with the supplied cable ties and/or insert them into the existing cable holders.
Refit all trim parts and any parts removed.
Reconnect the earth wire to the battery.
NOTE:
The additional control light (C2) for monitoring the directional indicators on the
trailer hitch is fitted on the vehicle. In addition, the trailer lights (with the exception of the fog
light and reversing light) are monitored using the light failure monitoring element in the multi-
function display.
After fitting the electric installation kit, an online coding or a documentation update must be
performed. Enter the SVM action code

for a fixed towing hitch
or
39C92
removable towing hitch
using the test program of the diagnosis tester and follow the instructions.
3. Function test
Check all functions using a suitable test device.
