After the machine reaches its destination, release the feed lock lever (a),

on which the machine can only move backwards (d), i.e. in the direction
in which it is operated. By turning the digging depth adjustment knob (b),
lower the digging unit to the desired trench depth (c):

If you slide the drive lock lever into the latch, it will lock and the chain drive
will raise. Then you will be able to drive the machine only forward without
digging - do not touch the drive wheel mechanism (a).
If the drive lock is withdrawn, the lock will be released and the machine will
only be able to move backwards (b), i.e. in the direction in which it excavates.
