7.5 Explanation of system settings - screen 4/5
The settings that can be made on page 4/4 of the system settings
are partly dependent on the options activated or deactivated by
the manufacturer in the Admin settings.
The following variant screens may be displayed:
No settings can be made in this screen.
ΔT enabled and Advice are deactivated in the Admin settings.
A variant of a screen can be that only one of the two options displayed
can be activated or deactivated. In the example above this is the
Advice function. ΔT enabled is deactivated in the Admin settings.
The most common variant is that all the options are activated and
a number of extra setting possibilities are displayed.
The extra settings are displayed as soon as ΔT enabled is
activated or was already activated when this screen was opened.
ΔT enabled:
Activate or deactivate ΔT function.
Auto restart:
Activate or deactivate automatic restarting of heating as soon as
ΔT is within the permitted limits again.
ΔT switch off:
The temperature difference between 2 measuring points on a
workpiece at which the heating process is stopped.
12
ΔT switch on:
The temperature difference between 2 measuring points on a
workpiece at which the heating process is allowed to be switched
on again after previously being switched off due to exceeding of the
limit value for ΔT.
Advice:
Activate or deactivate the advice function for the number of
windings that should be used when employing flexible inductors.
This function is not relevant with fixed inductors.
The ΔT function:
This function is used if the temperatures in a workpiece must not
differ too much in order to avoid stresses in the material. The
function is also used for bearings when the temperatures of inner
ring and outer ring must not differ too much. If necessary, ask the
supplier of the workpiece how large the temperature differences
in the workpiece may be.
For the ΔT function it is necessary that the two sensors (T1 and T2)
are connected to the generator and positioned correctly on the
workpiece.
Positioning of sensors:
Position sensor T1 (red) at the point where the heat is applied to
the workpiece. This sensor is the "main sensor" and the master
in the heating process. Position sensor T2 (green) elsewhere on
the workpiece. Position it so that it is easy to monitor a possible
difference in temperature between the two measuring points on the
workpiece.
The temperatures T1 and T2 are measured during the heating
process. The difference between these two temperatures is
calculated continuously. If the difference is more than the
temperature set under "ΔT switch off", the heating process
switches off.
If "Auto restart" is active, the heating process will restart
automatically as soon as the temperature difference is smaller
than the temperature set under "ΔT switch on".
If "Auto restart" is not active, the heating process will not restart
automatically and has to be restarted manually.
The advice function
The advice function is a tool that can be used with flexible
inductors. When this function is active, the generator gives
an advice in the top centre of the screen during heating. The
generator indicates what is to be done with the number of
windings wrapped round a workpiece.
