Disposal
WARNING
Risk of injury due to incorrect disposal! Health hazards due to escaping gases or liquids.
▶ DO NOT send batteries through the mail!
▶ Cover the terminals with a non-conductive material (such as electrical tape) to prevent short circuiting.
▶ Dispose of your battery out of the reach of children.
▶ Dispose of the battery at your Hilti Store, or consult your local governmental garbage disposal or public
health and safety resources for disposal instructions.
Most of the materials from which Hilti products are manufactured can be recycled. The materials must be
correctly separated before they can be recycled. In many countries, your old tools, machines or appliances
can be returned to Hilti for recycling. Ask Hilti Service or your Hilti sales representative for further information.
▶ Do not dispose of power tools, electronic equipment or batteries as household waste!

Possible cause
The laser beam is refracted on
account of temperature differences
inside the pipe.
The laser beam is refracted and
reflected by mist and/or haze.
The pipe sags.
The target plate is not securely
fixed.
An incorrect value was entered.
The bubble of the digital spirit level
in the display or the bubble in the
spirit level of the target plate is not
set correctly.
The laser beam is refracted on
account of temperature differences
inside the pipe.
Action to be taken
▶ After the pipes have been laid,
the trench has to be filled in
immediately in order to ensure
temperature stability.
▶ Give the pipes time to accli-
matize before proceeding with
measurement.
▶ Use a blower to blow air through
the pipe so that the air can mix
with and expel the mist/haze.
▶ Cover the pipe to prevent heat
from developing inside the pipe.
▶ Check the inclination of the
pipe.
▶ Secure the target plate in the
holder.
▶ Check the value that was
entered and the unit (% or ‰).
▶ Set up the laser and/or the
target plate in such a way that
the bubble is in the middle of
the spirit level.
▶ After the pipes have been laid,
the trench has to be filled in
immediately in order to ensure
temperature stability.
▶ Give the pipes time to accli-
matize before proceeding with
measurement.
