Preliminary checks
Pre-operation checks must be performed prior to driving.
1) Fuel
• Petrol is extremely flammable and explosive under certain conditions. Do not allow smoking, flames or
sparks in the area where you are refueling or storing petrol.
• Do not overfill the fuel tank (there should be no petrol in the fuel tank neck). After refueling, make sure
that the fuel cap is securely in place and closed.
• Be careful not to spill fuel when refueling. Spilled fuel or fuel vapors can ignite a fire. If you spill any fuel,
make sure the area is thoroughly dry before starting the engine.
• Open the fuel cap and confirm the amount of fuel. If it is insufficient, please refill the tank up to the mark.
• Note: Use unleaded petrol for automobiles.
2) Engine oil
• Running the engine with a low oil level can seriously damage the engine.
• Remove the oil plug and wipe the oil dipstick clean with a cloth.
• Insert the rod into the collar but do not screw it in.
• If the level is low, top up with the recommended oil to the top mark on the filler neck.
Use certified 10W30 or 15W40 premium quality 4-stroke engine detergent oil that meets or exceeds the
requirements set by U.S. automobile manufacturers for API service classification SG, SF.
3) Air filter
Check that the filter is not dirty or clogged with dirt.
