Connecting Printer and DVD Recorder or VCR

Lock the wheels.

Insert security strap in outer slots, if necessary.

Move the device forward to allow access to the connectors, if necessary.

Ensure that the mini-dock is connected to the system.

• S-video cables (B) (B). Insert the ferrite end of the cable into the mini-dock.
• RS-232 cable (E), including audio left/right input/output. For Panasonic VCR,
attach VCR adapter (F) to E.
• AC power cord (I)

Connect system power cord (K) to a hospital-grade electrical outlet.

Fold excess cable behind the device, and insert the cables on either side of
column, using the grommets to secure cables, if necessary.

Tighten the strap.
Press the Setup key on the ultrasound system.

Select Connectivity.

In the Video Mode list, select the appropriate video format: NTSC or PAL.

In the Serial Port list, select VCR.

Restart the system to activate VCR connectivity.
Note: Because the bar code scanner, DVD recorder, and VCR require the same port
on the mini-dock, you can connect only one of these peripherals at a time.
Ensure that the cables are correctly installed.

Turn on the VCR.

Ensure that the input switch is correctly set. (See the manufacturer's
instructions for location of switches.)
• Sony: Dip switches: 1-4 Down and 5, 6 Up
• Panasonic: Line

Press the Record key or use the controls on the VCR to start and stop recording.
Note: Do a test recording before a patient exam to ensure that all connectivity is
correct.

Turn on the VCR.

Press the Function key ( ) then V on the system.

Press Play on VCR.
