Improper sprocket cover assembly can result in serious injury,
and will cause severe saw damage if unit is started. Never start
or operate saw if brake band is not in place on clutch drum.
Always check chain brake operation after replacing guard. Do
not use saw if chain brake does not function properly.
Adjusting Chain Tension
Always loosen sprocket cover nuts before turning the chain tension
adjuster, otherwise the sprocket cover and tensioner will be damaged.
1. Unlock the chain brake and loosen
sprocket cover nuts.
2. Hold the bar nose up, and turn
the tension adjuster (F) clockwise
towards (+) until chain contacts
underside of the bar.
3. Tighten sprocket cover nuts with
the bar nose held up and under
tension.
