Troubleshooting

All the following maintenance operations shall be carried out by a maintenance technician.

6 MAINTENANCE

Routine maintenance

• Before carrying out any routine maintenance operation, put the ON/OFF button (11) in 'off' position and
remove the battery (18) from the tool.
• All the maintenance operations which are not mentioned in this manual must be carried out at an Authorized
Service Point.
Routine maintenance operations can be carried out by the operators.
6.1.1

Chain tension adjustment

The chain (1) tends to expand or shrink while using the tool. This causes a change in its tension.
Periodically check the chain tension, adjusting it if necessary.
Do not tension the chain when it has stretched due to heat. Make any new adjustment only after its cooling.
Tension is correct when the chain perfectly fits the bar (2) lower part and can still
be easily further pulled along the bar with two fingers
The correct tension with a Carving bar is when the chain
teeth are half visible on the underside of the bar (2).

REMEDY
Recharge the battery (18)
Check the proper connection of the battery (18) with
the tool
Take the tool to an Authorized Service Point.
Recharge the battery (18)
Sharpen or replace the chain
Regulate the chain (1) tension
Add oil into its reservoir (16)
Regulate the chain (1) tension
Add oil into its reservoir (16)
Sharpen the chain (1)
Replace the chain (1)
Add oil into its reservoir (16) using the plug (14)
Disassemble the front guard (5) and remove the cut-
ting residues
Take the tool to an Authorized Service Point.
Replace the battery (18)
Replace the battery charger (20)
Check that the battery charger (20) is the one supplied
with the tool.
