To adjust the chain tension, perform the following steps in sequence:
•
Switch off the tool by means of the ON / OFF button (11)
•
Remove the battery (18) by pressing on the releasing plates (19)
•
Loosen the nuts (3) by turning them anti-clockwise.
•
Turn the adjusting screw (4) clockwise by means of a screwdriver until the chain perfectly fits the lower part of the
bar (2) and can be easily further pulled along the bar with two fingers.
•
Lock the nuts (3) by turning them clockwise.
If the chain (1) is new, it requires a break-in period during which its tension must be checked more often.
6.1.2
Replacing the chain or the cutting bar
Perform the following operations in sequence:
•
Switch off the tool by means of the ON / OFF button (11) and remove the battery (18) by pressing on the releasing
plates (19).
•
Completely unscrew the nuts (3) anti-clockwise to remove the front guard (5).
•
To loosen the chain (1), turn the adjustment screw (4) anti-clockwise until it stops.
•
Remove the bar (2) and the chain (1) to be replaced.
•
Insert the tabs of the chain (1) transmission teeth into the groove of the bar. The arrows on the connecting links, in
the upper part of the bar, must be directed towards the bar tip.
•
Position the bar (2) and chain (1) on the tool, making sure that:
-
the chain drive links are inserted on the pinion teeth
-
the slot (27) in the bar is inserted in the drive on the tool body (24).
-
the pin of the chain tensioner (25) is inserted in the hole (28) of the bar.
•
Reassemble the guard (5) and screw the nuts (3) without tightening them.
•
Tension the chain by turning the adjusting screw (4) clockwise, so that it is well tensioned and can be easily moved
manually.
•
When the correct tension is reached, lock the nuts (3).
