Replace the dessicant beads
N O T I C E
Do not operate the sensor without dessicant beads or with dessicant beads that
have changed to green. Permanent damage to the sensor can occur.
Immediately replace the dessicant beads when they start to change from
yellow to green.
The cable assembly with desiccant hub can be used with the Flo-Logger
or the FL900 loggers. When using this cable assembly with the Flo-
Logger, do not disconnect the desiccant cartridge that is attached to the
Flo-Logger itself.
Note: To reuse expired dessicant beads, remove them from the dessicant canister
and heat at 100–180 °C (212–350 °F) until the beads become yellow. Do not heat
the dessicant canister. If the beads do not become yellow, discard the beads.
1. Use a slight twisting motion to remove the bottom end cap from the
dessicant container. Turn the bottom end cap until the slots of the
end cap align with the retaining clips. Refer to
Note: It is not necessary to remove the dessicant box to remove the dessicant
container.
2. Gently pull the end cap straight out to remove it.
3. Pour the desiccant beads out of the canister.
4. Hold the canister up to the light and examine the hydrophobic filter.
• Look through the hole. If a small, dim light spot is seen, the filter is
in good condition. If a bright light spot is seen, the filter is probably
torn. Replace the filter. Refer to
on page 23.
• If the desiccant beads were completely saturated with water or the
filter has become saturated with water or grease, replace the filter.

5. Fill the canister tube with yellow desiccant beads. Inspect the O-ring
on the bottom end cap for cracking, pits or evidence of leakage.
Replace if necessary. Refer to
on page 23 for part numbers.
Note: Apply grease to dry or new O-rings to make installation easier, the O-
ring seals better and to increase the life span of the O-ring.
