User Information

Before starting up, connecting and operating this pro-
duct it is absolutely essential that the operating inst-
ructions/owner's manual and, in particular, the safety
instructions are studied carefully. By doing so you can
eradicate any uncertainties in handling this product and
thus associated safety risks upfront; something which
is in the interests of your own safety and will ultimately
help avoid damage to the device. When this product is
handed over to another person, not only the operating
instructions but also the safety instructions and infor-
mation on its designated use must be handed over to
the person.
2.1

User group

The product may be used by skilled and instructed
personnel only. Personnel scheduled to be trained,
familiarized, instructed or to take part in a general trai-
ning course may only work with the product under the
supervision of an experienced person.
All work conducted on electrical and hydraulic devices
may be performed by persons with sufficient know-
ledge and experience in the field of electric and hydrau-
lic.
2.2
Federal Communications Commission
(FCC) Compliance
JLR DOIP VCI has been tested and found to comply
with the limits for a Class A digital device, pursuant to
Part 15 of the Federal Communications Commission
(FCC) rules. These limits are designed to provide reaso-
nable protection against harmful interference when the
equipment is operated in a commercial environment.
JLR DOIP VCI generates, uses, and can radiate radio fre-
quency energy. If not installed and used in accordance
with the instruction manual, it may cause harmful
interference to radio communications. Operation of this
equipment in a residential area is likely to cause harmful
interference, in which case the user will be required to
correct the interference at his or her expense.

Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)

The JLR DOIP VCI satisfies the requirements of the
EMC directive 2004/108/EG.

The JLR DOIP VCI is a class/category A product as
defined by EN 61 326. The JLR DOIP VCI may cause
high-frequency household interference (radio inter-
ference) so that interference suppression may be
necessary. In such cases the user may be required to
take the appropriate action.

Measurement category as per

EN 61010-2-030:2010
EN 61010-2-030 specifies the general safety require-
ments for electrical testers and measuring instruments
and defines the measurement categories from 0 to IV.
JLR DOIP VCI is designed for test and measurement
circuits of category 0 (motor vehicle testers), i.e. for
measurements on circuits with no direct electrical sys-
tem connection.

Range of application

JLR DOIP VCI is intended for indoor use only.
