Safety
Circuit breaker
The size and switching characteristics of the circuit breakers must conform to the rated cur-
rent of the product connected. Observe the locally applicable regulations.
Motor protection switch
For products supplied without a plug, a motor protection switch must be installed on-site.
The minimum requirement is a thermal relay/motor protection switch with temperature
compensation, differential triggering and an anti-reactivation device, in accordance with lo-
cal regulations. Further protection devices (e.g. overvoltage, undervoltage, or phase-failure
relay etc.) must be provided on-site for sensitive power supplies.
Residual-current device (RCD)
ƒ
Install residual-current device (RCD) according to the regulations of the local energy sup-
ply company.
ƒ
If contact with the product and conductive liquids is possible, install residual-current de-
vice (RCD).
When using the product in fluids which are dangerous to health, there is a danger of bacte-
rial infection! Thoroughly clean and disinfect the product after removal and before further
use. The operator must ensure the following points:

When cleaning the product the following protective equipment is made available and
worn:

Closed safety goggles

Breathing mask
–
Protective gloves

All persons are informed about the fluid, the danger resulting from it and how to handle
it!
ƒ
Wear the following protective equipment:

Safety shoes
–
Protective helmet
ƒ
At the operation site, comply with the applicable laws and regulations for work safety
and accident prevention.
ƒ
Secure and demarcate the working area.
ƒ
Unauthorized persons must be kept away from the working area.
ƒ
Only use legally specified and approved lifting gear and hoists.
ƒ
Select lifting gear according to the prevailing conditions (weather, attachment point,
load etc.).
ƒ
Always attach lifting gear to the attachment points.
ƒ
Ensure lifting gear is securely attached.
ƒ
Ensure the hoist is stable.
ƒ
Check swivel range.
ƒ
Ensure presence of second person to coordinate procedure if required (e.g. if field of vi-
sion is blocked).
ƒ
Persons are not permitted to stand under suspended loads. Do not move suspended
loads over working areas occupied by persons.
ƒ
Observe packaging instructions:

Impact-resistant
–
Ensure that product is properly fixed in place.

Protect it against dust, oil and moisture.
ƒ
Wear the following protective equipment:

Safety shoes
–
Safety gloves that protect against cutting injuries
–
Protective helmet
–
Safety harness

At the operation site, comply with the applicable laws and regulations for work safety
and accident prevention.

Secure and demarcate the working area.
ƒ
Keep working area free from ice.
ƒ
Remove any objects that are lying around from working area.
