Safety
ƒ
Unauthorized persons must be kept away from the working area.
ƒ
If the weather conditions mean it is no longer possible to work safely, stop work.
ƒ
Work must always be carried out by two persons.
ƒ
When working at a height of more than 1 m (3 ft) above the ground, use scaffolding with
a safety harness.
ƒ
Only use hoists that are in a technically sound condition.
ƒ
Check swivel range.
ƒ
Ensure enclosed spaces have sufficient ventilation.
ƒ
Toxic or suffocating gases may build up in closed rooms or structures. Observe protective
measures according to work regulations, e.g. carry gas warning device with you.
ƒ
If there is a risk of explosion, do not carry out welding work or work with electrical de-
vices.
ƒ
Disconnect product from power supply and secure against unauthorized reactivation.
ƒ
All rotating parts must stop.
ƒ
Disinfect product.
ƒ
Wear protective equipment according to work regulations.
ƒ
Secure and demarcate the working area.
ƒ
No-one is allowed in the working area during operation.
ƒ
Depending on the process, the product is activated and deactivated using separate con-
trols. Product may automatically activate following power cuts.
ƒ
If the motor tips, the motor housing can heat up to above 40 °C (104 °F).
ƒ
A manager must be informed of any faults or irregularities immediately.
ƒ
The operator must switch the product off immediately if faults occur.
ƒ
The propeller must not crash into fixtures or walls. Observe the defined clearances in ac-
cordance with consulting documents.
ƒ
Observe the required water immersion. If the water level varies significantly, use level
monitoring.
ƒ
The sound pressure level depends on several factors (installation, duty point, etc.). If the
product is operated under normal operating conditions, the operator must measure the
sound pressure. From a sound pressure level of 85 dB(A) upward, wear hearing protection
and mark the working area!
ƒ
Wear the following protective equipment:
Closed safety goggles
Safety gloves that protect against cutting injuries
Safety shoes
ƒ
Disconnect product from power supply and secure against unauthorized reactivation.
ƒ
Carry out maintenance work in a clean, dry and well-lit place.
ƒ
Only carry out maintenance work described in these installation and operating instruc-
tions.
ƒ
Only use original parts from the manufacturer. The use of parts other than original parts
absolves the manufacturer of any liability.
ƒ
Immediately clean up any leakage from fluid and coolant/lubricant, and dispose of such
materials according to the locally applicable guidelines.
ƒ
Disinfect product.
Change of operating fluid
In the event of a motor defect, a pressure of several bar can build up in the sealing cham-
ber! This pressure escapes when opening the screw plugs. Screw plugs opened carelessly
can be ejected at high speed! To avoid injuries, observe the following instructions:
ƒ
Adhere to the prescribed sequence of work steps.
ƒ
Unscrew screw plugs slowly but never fully. As soon as the pressure escapes (an audible
whistling or hissing of air), do not turn any further.
WARNING! When the pressure escapes, hot operating fluid can also be ejected. This
can result in scalding! To avoid injury, allow the motor to cool down to ambient tem-
perature before commencing work!
ƒ
When the pressure has fully dissipated, fully unscrew screw plug.
The product uses the following operating fluids:
ƒ
The seal housing is filled with white oil.
