Non-ferrous Metals
Use only a suitable and sharp saw blade.
This ensures a clean cut and prevents jam-
ming of the saw blade.
Apply the machine running to the workpiece, care-
fully start sawing and then saw with slow feeding
and without interruption.
For profiles, always start the cut on the small side;
for U-profiles, never start the cuts on the open side.
Support long profile, otherwise the saw blade can
become jammed when the profile tips over and the
machine can "kick back".
Material with Mineral Content
(Light Construction Material)
Only dry cutting is allowed.
Work only with the guide rail 23 (optional extra).
Use dust extraction. The vacuum cleaner must be
suitable for masonry dust.

Practical advice

Parallel Guide
The parallel guide 5 makes possible exact cuts
along a workpiece edge or the cutting of parallel
strips.
Guide Rail (Optional extra)
The guide rail 23 makes possible exact right angle
or mitre cuts up to 45°.
The non-slip covering prevent sliding of the guide
rail and protects the surface of the workpiece. The
hard anodised coating of the guide rail provides for
easy gliding of the circular saw.
For working with the guide rail, a glide shoe 25 (op-
tional extra) is required which is clipped under the
base plate 19.
Attach the guide rail with the screw clamps 24 so
that the narrow side points to the saw blade.
The guide rail 23 must not protrude over the
side of the workpiece where the cutting is to
begin.
Depending on the cut to be made (Fig. A and B),
place the machine with the first or second groove of
the glide shoe 25 on the guide rail 23, switch on and
press with moderate feeding against the material.

Connection Piece (Optional extra)
With the connecting piece 22, two guide rails can be
connected together. The attachment is by means of
four screws.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Before any work on the machine itself, pull
the mains plug.
If the machine should happen to fail despite the
care taken in manufacture and testing, repair should
be carried out by an authorised customer services
agent for Bosch power tools.
Uncoated saw blades can be protected from corro-
sion with a thin coat of acid-free oil. Remove the oil
again before use to prevent spotting of wood.
Resin and glue on the saw blade cause poor cutting
results. Therefore, clean the saw blade immediately
after use.
For all correspondence and spare parts orders, al-
ways include the 10 digit order number of the ma-
chine!
Important instructions for connecting a new 3-
pin plug to the 2 wire cable.
The wires in the cable are coloured according to the
following code:
Do not connect the blue or brown wire to the earth
terminal of the plug.
IMPORTANT:
If for any reason the plug is cut off of the cable of
this machine, it must be disposed of safely and not
left unattended.
Cutting at 45°
For safe and proper working, always keep
the machine and the ventilation slots clean.
