Adjusting bevel angles (see figures H1–H2)
The bevel angle can be set between 0° and 45°.
– Loosen the clamping lever (38).
– Pull the adjustable fence (14) all the way out.
– To lock the adjustable fence, retighten the clamping lever
(38).
– Loosen the clamping handle (15).
– Use the handle (1) to swivel the tool arm until the angle
indicator (29) shows the required bevel angle.
– Retighten the clamping handle (15).
Stops are provided ex-works for quick and precise setting
of the standard bevel angles of 0° and 45°.
– Loosen the clamping handle (15).
– To do this, swivel the tool arm by the handle (1) as far as
it will go to the right (0°) or as far as it will go to the left
(45°).
– Retighten the clamping handle (15).
Start-up
Pay attention to the mains voltage. The voltage of the
u
power source must match the voltage specified on the
rating plate of the power tool. Power tools marked
with 230 V can also be operated with 220 V.
Products that are only sold in AUS and NZ: Use a resid-
u
ual current device (RCD) with a nominal residual current
of 30 mA or less.
Switching on (see figure I)
– To start the tool, press and hold down the on/off switch
(21).
Note: For safety reasons, the on/off switch (21) cannot be
locked; it must remain pressed during the entire operation.
The tool arm can only be guided downwards by pushing the
lever (3).
– For sawing, the lever (3) must be pushed while the on/
off switch (21) is pressed.

Switching off

– To switch off, release the on/off switch (21).

Practical advice

General sawing instructions
Always tighten the locking knob (9) firmly before saw-
u
ing. Otherwise the saw blade could become jammed in
the workpiece.
Make sure that the retracting blade guard operates properly
and that it can move freely. The retracting blade guard must
open when the glide arm is guided downward. When the
glide arm is guided upward, the retracting blade guard must
close again over the saw blade and lock in the uppermost po-
sition of the tool arm.
Protect the saw blade against impact and shock. Do not sub-
ject the saw blade to lateral pressure.

Position of the operator (see figure J)
Do not stand in line with the saw blade in front of the
power tool. Always stand to the side of the saw blade.
This protects your body against possible kickback.
Marking the cutting line (see figure K)
A laser beam shows you the cutting line of the saw blade.
This allows for exact positioning of the workpiece for sawing,
without having to open the retracting blade guard.
– To activate this, turn on the laser beam using the switch
(20).
– Align your mark on the workpiece with the right-hand
edge of the laser line.
Permissible workpiece dimensions
Maximum workpiece dimensions:
Mitre angle
Bevel angle
45°
45°
45°
45°
Minimum workpiece dimensions (= all workpieces that can
be secured left or right of the saw blade using the supplied
screw clamp (27)): 100 x 40 mm (length x width)
Maximum cutting depth (0°/0°): 60 mm
Sawing
– Firmly clamp the workpiece as appropriate for its dimen-
sions.
– Set the required mitre and/or bevel angle.
– Switch on the power tool.
– Push the lever (3) and slowly guide the tool arm down-
wards using the handle (1).
– Saw through the workpiece applying uniform feed.
– Switch off the power tool and wait until the saw blade has
come to a complete stop.
– Slowly guide the tool arm upwards.
Replacing the insert plate
The black insert plate (7) can become worn after prolonged
use of the power tool.
Replace a defective insert plate.
– Bring the power tool into the work position.
– Unscrew the fastening screw (31) using the hex key (24)
and remove the old insert plate.
– Insert the new insert plate and screw the fastening screw
(31) in tight again.
Working on mouldings (base or crown
mouldings)
Mouldings can be sawn in two different ways:
Height x width
[mm]
60 x 120
60 x 85
37 x 120
37 x 85
