The first approach distance for obstacles not aligned with the end of the vehicle body on the side is
about 60 ± 10 cm (3).

Side coverage area

The minimum height of a detectable obstacle (value "1" in the figure below) corresponds to the
maximum height of an obstacle that does not knock the car during the parking manoeuvre.
Any obstacle that knocks the car during the parking manoeuvre must be detected, but the objects
lower than the bumper's bottom or lower than the pipe's bottom shall not be signalled.
The height of the vertical coverage area (value "2" in the figure below) is about 80 ± 10 cm.

RAILER HOOK MANAGEMENT
IN CASE THE HOOK IS NOT REMOVABLE
If the specific trailer hook parameter inside the ECU diagnostic section is set to "present", the
coverage areas can be modified.
The dimensions of the blank area around the hook must be modified accordingly with the size, position
and shape of the hook in order to avoid acoustic signalling due to the hook's presence.
