Main chassis in service position

Place main chassis in service position

Replacement of main chassis incl. PCB1, PCB3, PCB4 and PCB6
Remove PCB20
Discharge picture tube and remove high voltage cable
Place main chassis in service position
Connect the ESD mat to the chassis
Disconnect plugs, cables and PCB's required to remove main chassis
- Unscrew the 2 screws (C) at the left side of the chassis (see
chassis to the right, until it is 180° opposite of initial position. Then lock the
chassis by pushing up the holder (D) at the top of the chassis (see
- If PCB20 is mounted, it should be removed, before replacing the main chassis.

- In order to avoid electric chock, the picture tube has to be discharged. A short
circuit must be made between the ground lead and the picture tube behind the
insulation (see
5). This short circuit can be made for example by means of one
of the leads from the multimeter. Place one end on the ground lead (E) and the
other end is then placed behind the insulation piece (F). In this way the picture
tube will be discharged.
Please note that a spark may occur when discharging.
- Remove the high voltage cable (F) from the picture tube (see
- Unscrew the 2 screws from the main chassis holder and place the main chassis in
service position. See #5 Placing main chassis in service position for further
information.
- Connect one of the ground cords to the aerial input on the main chassis using
an alligator clip. Connect the other ground cord to the wrist strap.
Please note: Disconnect the plugs 10P030 and 4P020 by pushing the "lock"
towards the plug and at the same time pulling the plug outwards.
- Disconnect 10P028 and 10P030 (see
- Disconnect 4P020, 1P08 and 1P016 (see
stand control module is mounted. Loosen 1P016 from it's holder. Remove 4P020
from the holders on the chassis.
- Disconnect the coloured cable (G), from the picture tube, above PCB3. Also
disconnect 3P040. Remove PCB3 by carefully working it loose from the picture
tube. Now disconnect the ground lead 3P070, using a pair of flat-nose pliers
(see
8).
- Remove all leads from the holder (H) placed in the TV (see
