this occurs, the lamp must be recharged without delay
(see charging procedure).
Emergency light function
If the power supply to the charging unit fails, the main lamp switch-
es on. It remains switched on until the power supply to the charging
unit is restored.
When the working and emergency lamp is removed from the
charging unit, the lamp remains switched on.

Charging procedure
Before first use, charge the working and emergency
lamp for 48 hours.
The lamp must click into place in the charging unit.

Vehicle installation
If it is possible to charge the vehicle from a shore-based
230 V AC supply, both the 230 V AC and the 12/24 V DC leads
must be connected, otherwise when the 230 V external supply is
disconnected, the lamp will automatically switch over to the emer-
gency light function and discharge itself.
When the 230 V supply is disconnected, the vehicle battery takes
over the charging function until the limit values given below are
undershot.
Limit values:
For charging from a 12 V vehicle battery, at least 11.8 V are
required; from a 24 V battery, at least 23.6 V are required. When
these values are undershot, the charging unit interrupts the charg-
ing procedure to prevent a deep discharge of the vehicle battery.
Lens disc
Clip the lens disc onto the pins at the side of the head of the lamp.
Cleaning
To avoid electrostatic charging, the lamp, the shade and the
charging unit must only be cleaned by wiping with a damp cloth.
