4.3 Faults in the heating circuit (option CC8)
Symptom
Possible Cause
No heat output
Pump not running
Cooling water is still cold
Water valve closed
Water hoses kinked or crushed
Water pump pressure too low
Reduced heat
Air flow rate of the fan is too low
output
Too little water flows through the
heat exchanger
Air in heat exchanger
Coolant (water /
Loose hose connection
glycol) leaking
Water hose damaged
from the roof-top
Heat exchanger damaged
air-conditioning
unit
Roof-top Air-conditioning System CC4E, CC5 and CC8
Remedy
Start engine and check pump connections
Wait until engine has reached its operating temperature
Open valve; check electrical connections if a solenoid valve is used
Eliminate cause of fault, repair any leaks
Cooling water does not flow through heat exchanger. Install an
additional or more powerful pump.
Select a higher fan power stage
Water line kinked or crushed. Reroute hoses. Water pump pressure
too low (see above for corrective action). Open water valve in vehicle
if applicable.
Bleed via valve on heat exchanger of heating system
Check that hose connections are secure and retighten hose clamps
Install and connect a new hose
Install and connect an original replacement part
