POwER CONNECTION dEVICE
The plug type supplied for prewired machine at 240V is
equipped with a either plug, shown in Figure A or B. Do not
modify this plug provided. If it will not fit the outlet, have the
proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician.
120 VOLT SINgLE-PhASE OPERATION
The motor supplied with your machine is a dual voltage,
120/240 volt motor. It is shipped ready-to-run for 240
volt operation. However, it can be converted for 120 volt
operation using a DELTA
number #50-907. To order a DELTA
®
contact your DELTA
dealer or distributor.
A qualified electrician should do the conversion, or the
machine can be taken to an Authorized Dealer Service
Center. When completed, the machine must conform to the
National Electric Code and all local codes and ordinances.
The machine is converted by re-wiring the motor for 120
volts, installing a 120 volt plug on the power supply cord
and replacing the power control unit with one that is rated
for 120 volt operation. Be sure the 120 volt plug is only used
in an outlet having the same configuration as the plug. No
adapter should be used with the 120 volt plug.
In all cases, make certain that the receptacle in question
is properly grounded. If you are not sure, have a qualified
electrician check the receptacle.
NOTICE: This Machine is prewired for 240V. If you plan
to operate the machine at 120V, you must replace the
entire control panel with the optional 120V control panel,
and rewire the motor at the junction box, as shown in the
instructions included with the DELTA
(Part #50-907).
Use proper extension cords. Make sure your extension cord is in good condition and is a
3-wire extension cord which has a 3-prong grounding type plug and matching receptacle
which will accept the machine's plug. when using an extension cord, be sure to use one heavy enough to
carry the current of the machine. An undersized cord will cause a drop in line voltage, resulting in loss of
power and overheating. The smaller the gauge number, the heavier the cord. If you must use an extension
cord.
• For 240V, use at least a 14 gauge cord that does not exceed 50 feet in length.
• For 120V, use at least a 12 gauge cord that does not exceed 50 feet in length.
• The extension cord must have a ground wire and plug pin.
