Performing a functional test
Conduct the functional test as follows:
➤ Switch on the ignition and shift into reverse gear.
✓ A short double beep sounds to indicate that it is working.
Be very careful when you first operate the device, and make sure that you
familiarize yourself with the various sequences of beeps.
Zone Description (see 5, page 5)
1
MAGIC WATCH recognises obstacles
from a distance of around 1.5 m
(measured from the sensor) and
signals them with a series of slow
beeps from the Piezo loudspeaker
and with the green bar.
2
From a distance of around 0.95 m
(measured from the sensor) MAGIC
WATCH switches to the medium
sequence of beeps and the bar
becomes yellow.
3
At a distance of around 0.4 m
(measured from the sensor) and less,
MAGIC WATCH switches to the red
bar and a continuous tone. When you
reach this zone, stop the vehicle.
Otherwise you might damage the
vehicle or the obstacle.
In Zone 3 some obstacles may not be detected, because they
are no longer within range of the sensors (construction-related
characteristic).
MAGIC WATCH is equipped with a diagnostic function: If the sensors are
defective, you will hear three short beeps instead of two when you engage
reverse gear.
