4 - Acquisition of waveforms
The measurements with the oscilloscope can be made in three ways: (aut)
automatic (intelligent function probe) (stp) step by step and (con) continuous.
4.1 - Automatic Mode (aut)
View an unknown signal (Intelligent Probe)
The "smart probe" allows the show Ziptec unknown signals automatically.
This function analyzes the signal types and ranks: (OPN) open circuit (GND)
Ground (earth) (Vdc) DC voltage value other than 0, or (PUL) pulse or periodic
signal, (??) Signal not recognized.
When a value is found voltage continuous signal is traced and its amplitude can
be analyzed.
When a signal is found pulsating, the function tries to optimize the time scales
and amplitude of the signal for better viewing.
To use the automatic mode the oscilloscope, do the following:
Place the selector switch in position (osc). If necessary, set the mode (aut) in
the oscilloscope menu (see "Menu Navigation").
To trigger the capture of the signal, touch the probe Ziptec the wire or terminal to
be measured and to keep in touch.
Press and wait until the indication of the type of signal on the screen.
Remember: You can always make the measurements through the red test
lead connected to the positive terminal of the connection to the probe.
