When the batteries are empty, the connection to the baby unit will be terminated.
allow the batteries to charge for at least 10 hours before first use.
3.2 BaBy unit
you can power the baby unit using the mains power supply or using alkaline bat-
teries. Even if you are planning on powering the unit from the mains power supply,
we recommend you insert alkaline batteries (N.B. no other battery type). This will
guarantee an automatic backup in case the mains power supply fails.
1. Remove the battery compartment cover (Fig. 6).
2. Insert 4 x LR6 AA alkaline batteries (Fig. 7).
3. Replace the battery compartment cover (Fig. 8).
4. Connect the output plug of the mains adapter to the DC socket on the side of
the baby unit and connect the mains adapter to the mains power supply at the
wall (Fig. 9).
Use only normal alkaline batteries in the baby unit.
3.3 impOrtant recOmmendatiOns
•
Avoid exposing the units to moisture or liquid.
•
Never immerse any part of the Babyphone in liquid and do not expose the unit
to water.
•
Clean the units using a damp cloth.
•
Do not expose the units to cold, heat or direct sunlight.
•
The units must only be set up on a firm, level, dry and non-flammable surface.
•
To prevent an electric shock, do not open up the baby unit, parent unit or
power adapter casings.
•
Use only the power adapters supplied with the Babyphone.
•
Do not cut the adapters to replace the plugs as this is highly dangerous.
•
Avoid inserting metallic contacts (e.g. metal clips or keys) between the battery
contacts and the charging conductors.
•
Observe the markings on the power adapter for the mains supply required for
this Babyphone.
•
Check whether the required voltage matches your local voltage (see the name-
plate on the adapters).
•
Make sure the baby unit and power adapter cable are always out of reach of
the baby.
•
Never place the baby unit inside the baby's cot, bed or playpen.
•
Never cover the units, for example with clothes, towels or blankets.
•
If you place the parent unit next to a transmitter or other DECT device (such
as a DECT telephone), the connection with the baby unit may be lost.
•
Please note that any claim under warranty and liability will be declared null and
void if accessories are used which are not recommended in these operating
instructions or, in the case of repairs, if original parts are not exclusively used.
This also applies to repairs undertaken by non-qualified persons.
