Note the following when transporting the equipment (especially for equipment weighing more than
110 lbs. [50 kg]):
2.1.10
During assembly, ensure that:
2.1.11
Caution!
When the housing cover is open, EMC and contact protection is no longer provided. Note the special in-
formation provided on explosion-proof equipment in the Ex chapter of the main operating manual.
2.1.12
Special specifications apply in Ex areas to the connection for auxiliary power and the switch output point.
Observe the information provided on this subject in the Ex chapter of the main operating manual.

Warning!
Pressure relief point of the Swirl flowmeter is
pressurized.
Escaping fluids may cause serious injury.
Depressurise the piping before opening.

Possible risks present during transport

the center of gravity may not be in the center of the equipment.
any attachment points and
protection during transport (e.g. sealing of openings).

Possible risks present during assembly

the flow direction corresponds to the marking.
the equipment is fitted without mechanical tension (e.g. parallel mating flanges) and is only appropri-
ate for the anticipated operating conditions specified gaskets.
the straight pipe stretch required upstream or downstream of the meter is observed.
the piping upstream or downstream of the meter is properly supported (refer to information in main
operating manual).

Possible risks during electrical installation

The electrical installation is to be completed by authorised technicians in accordance with the Inter-
connection Diagrams.
ALWAYS note the information provided in the operating manual regarding electrical connections, oth-
erwise the electrical protection type may be restricted.
Earth the flowmeter system (refer to instructions in main operating manual).

Possible risks when used in Ex areas

Possible risks during active operation

Abrasive fluids and/or cavitation may damage pressure containing parts.
During the flow of hot media, contact with the surface may result in burns.
Aggressive fluids may result in corrosion and abrasion. Pressurised fluids might escape prematurely.

Possible risks during servicing and maintenance

Before working on the instrument (removing / opening the pressure taps of the Swirl flowmeter),
ensure that the instrument and adjacent lines and tanks are depressurised.
