5.7 ELECTRIC SYSTEM

- Battery
Check the electrolyte level and make sure that the battery elements are always
covered. Top up with distilled water when the engine is off and well away from
any naked flame. Check battery clamp fixing performance and grease them with
Vaseline. Keep the battery clean and, if the tractor is to be inactive for a long
time, store the battery in a cool, dry place.
- Clogging gauge of the engine air filter
Check that the clogging gauge of the engine air filter is in the correct position
and, if it is serviced, make sure that it is correctly assembled and protected
against the outdoor weather conditions as indicated in fig. 14.
It is essential for the cable connecting to the electrical system of the machine N°
1 fig. 14 to come out of the lower part of the actual gauge itself. The engine air
intake circuit could be seriously damaged if the protection is installed in the
wrong position.
- Fuses:
Before changing a fuse, (n.21 fig.1) eliminate the cause of the short circuit. The
fuses protect the following circuits (fig.12):
A= Light switch, brake light, hazard light, high beams. (7.5A)
B= Right/left steering connector power supply (7.5A)
C= Front right parking light, rear left parking light, number plate light, low fuel
warning and fuel indicator, temperature warning and indicator (7.5A)
D= Left front and rear right parking light, floodlight, parking light indicator,
mileometer/tachometer light (7.5A)
E= Flashing turn signals (7.5A)
F= Engine stop solenoid, set of temperature warning light and indicator, set of
low fuel warning light and fuel indicator (20A)
G= Left low beam headlight (7.5A)
H= Right low beam headlight (7.5A)
I= Optional (15A)
L= Horn (15A)
M= Left high beam headlight (7.5)
N= Right high beam headlight, high beam indicator (10A)
Replace fuses with others with the same rating as printed on each fused.
The tractor has a main knife-blade fuse rated at 40A located inside the tractor on
the front of the air deflector. This fuse protects the entire electric system.
