Commissioning and operation
The teach-in process is invalid if it is interrupted prema-
turely, e.g. by interrupting the supply of power to the read
head or by removing the actuator from the read head's
response range.
6.2.2
Teaching in a new actuator
The safety switch can only be operated with the last
actuator taught-in.
If a new actuator is taught-in, the evaluation unit inhibits
the previous actuator's code. This code cannot be taught-
in again immediately using a further teach-in process. The
inhibited code is only deleted in the evaluation unit after a
third code has been taught-in.
If the read head detects an actuator already taught-in
during teach-in, teach-in is stopped immediately and the
safety switch returns to normal operation.
Apply operating voltage to the read head; the read head
performs a self-test for approx. 10 seconds, during this
process the green LED flashes quickly (approx. 4 Hz).
Then the LED flashes three times per cycle, signalling its
readiness for teach-in.
The safety switch remains ready for teach-in for 10
minutes, then the safety switch will be switched back to
normal operation.
Move actuator to the read head, during this process
ensure distance is < S
teach-in process starts, the green LED flashes slowly
(approx. 1 Hz) and extinguishes when the teach-in
process is complete.
Switch off the operating voltage to the read head for at
least 3 seconds to activate in the read head the actua-
tor code taught-in.
The teach-in process is invalid if it is interrupted prema-
turely, e.g. by interrupting the supply of power to the read
head or by removing the actuator from the read head's
response range.
