Connection

5.6.1

Connection of a single safety switch

 Connect safety switch as in Fig. 7.
 If the RST input (hardware reset) is not used, it must be
connected to 0 V.
The door signal output OUT can be connected to a
controller as a signal output.
The safety switch can be reset via the input RST. A voltage
of 24 V is applied to the input RST for at least 3 seconds.
During this time, the supply voltage of the safety switch is
interrupted.

The T40-E01 has no external device monitoring. To
achieve SIL3/PL e, external device monitoring of the
superordinate safety evaluation must be used, for
example, by using a suitable safety relay.
The performance level actually reached or the SIL claim
limit reached depends on the outside termination, the
design of the wiring, the choice of control devices and
their placement on the machine.
