Description of operation

The electro-sensitive T40-E01 can be used individually or
connected in series (max. 20). It comprises
 a coded actuator
and
 a read head with integrated evaluation unit.
Each actuator supplied features an electronic code that is
unique to the system used. The actuator code cannot be
reprogrammed.
For an actuator to be detected by the system, it must be
allocated to the evaluation unit using a teach-in process.
This unambiguous allocation ensures a particularly high
degree of protection against tampering.
The safety switch with integrated evaluation unit and read
head is attached to the stationary part of the safety guard.
The actuator attached to the moving part of the guard
moves towards the read head fitted in the safety switch
when the guard is closed. When the switch-on distance is
reached, power is supplied to the actuator by the inductive
read head and data transfer can commence.
The scanned bit pattern is compared with the stored code
in the safety switches. If the data are correct, the safety
outputs (semiconductor outputs) are enabled, and the
door signal output (OUT) (semiconductor output) set HIGH.
When the safety guard is opened, the safety outputs
disconnect the safety circuit and the door signal output
(OUT) is switched to LOW.
The door signal output OUT is not allowed to be used as
a safety output.
By means of
 dynamic polling of the actuator
 redundant internal circuitry in the evaluation unit with
cyclic self-monitoring
 microprocessor-controlled monitoring of the two safety
outputs
