Installation
4.1 Installation of the actuator and read
head
Only authorised specialists may perform installation
work.
 Select mounting position for the safety switch such
that actuator and read head are easily accessible for
inspection and replacement, and are protected against
damage.
 Ensure that a hazard is excluded with the guard open
up to the safe switch-off distance for the safety switch.
 Positively mount actuator on the moving part of the
guard, e.g. using the safety screws enclosed.
 It must not be possible to remove actuators or tamper
with them using simple means.
 Mount read head on the fixed part of the guard such
that the front faces of the actuator and read head are at
least at the minimum switch-on distance 0.8 x S
closer with the guard closed; in case of approach from
the side a minimum distance of 4 mm is to be
maintained.
 If necessary, fit additional stop for the moving part of
the guard.
 Observe the maximum tightening torque of 1 Nm for
mounting safety switches and actuators.
Actuator and safety switch must not be used as a me-
chanical stop.
 In case of mounting several safety switches, maintain
the stipulated minimum distance to prevent mutual
interference.
