Disassembly/Assembly
Battery
The battery is internal to the radio housing. The
radio must be OFF before installing or removing the
battery or both.
To Remove Battery:
1. Release side panel battery cover latches (orange
tabs should be visible.) (Figure 3-3).

2. Firmly but gently press battery cover inward and
toward base of radio.
3. Slide battery cover about 1/4" toward base of
radio to align lock tabs (Figure 3-4).

4. Lift battery cover away from radio.
5. Hold radio with the battery facing down and
gently tap radio against the palm of your hand
(Figure 3-5).
To Install Battery:
1. Remove battery cover.

2. With the battery label facing up, position
battery so negative contact (-) aligns with
battery contact (Figure 3-6).

3. Slide contact end into battery tray and push into
place.
4. Slide battery cover onto grooves of housing.
5. Slide battery cover toward top of radio until
seated.
6. Secure battery cover latches.
Battery Tray
The battery tray protects the radio components.
1. Remove battery cover.
2. Remove battery.
3. Insert flat instrument in gap at base of battery
tray (Figure 3-7).
4. Gently pry base of battery tray away from
housing and lift battery tray out of housing.
