Model Information
A label on the back of each radio identifies the
model number, the serial number, and the type
approval designation. Refer to the User's Guide for
identification of radio frequencies.
Disassembly/Assembly
The radio has to be disassembled for repair.
Replaceable parts are discussed individually.
ON-OFF /VOL Knob and Channel
Selector Knob
To Remove ON - OFF/VOL Knob or Channel
Selector Knob:
1. Insert blunt, flat instrument under knob.
2. Gently pry knob off control post.
Antenna
The antenna is screwed into the control top of the
chassis (Figure 3-1).
To Remove Antenna:
1. Grasp antenna near the base and rotate
counterclockwise.
To Install Antenna:
1. Grasp antenna near base.
2. Place threaded end of antenna in antenna
connector.
3. Rotate antenna clockwise into chassis.
Belt Clip
The belt clip is tab mounted to the back of the
housing (Figure 3-2). The release tab is located top-
rear-center of the radio.

To Remove Belt Clip:

1. Insert narrow rigid tool between belt clip tab
and housing.
2. Apply pressure toward clip so the tab releases
from mounting.
3. Push belt clip toward top of radio.
To Attach Belt Clip:
1. Locate mounting rails on the back side of radio.
2. Align the mounting rails with the grooves in the
belt clip. Slide the belt clip down the mounting
rails until it latches into place (indicated by a
click).
