CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
To ensure reliable and efficient use of the Sandman Duo™ or Sandman DuoST™
devices, follow the maintenance instructions shown below.
Sandman Duo™ or Sandman DuoST™ devices
The device casing does not require any special maintenance. If necessary, clean the
device casing by using a cloth moistened with warm soapy water (for example, mild
liquid soap). Dry the device thoroughly.
WARNINGS
•
Always unplug the device from the electrical source before cleaning. Let it cool
down.
•
Do not use sprays. Chemical product residue could enter the air outlet, the air intake
filter, or the device interior, causing airway irritation.
•
Do not immerse the device in water.
•
Never allow water to spill onto the device or to drip into any of its openings.
•
Never use the device without making sure that an air intake filter is installed.
•
Do not insert foreign objects into the device.
CAUTION
The Sandman Duo™ or Sandman DuoST™ device should be opened by skilled personnel
only.
At least once a year, contact your home care provider to have the device pressure
inspected.
Air intake filters
Change the filters periodically, when they are torn or soiled (see Item 8 of Figure 5 on
page 7) or when the device displays a reminder to do so.
Washable filter
Clean the reusable air-intake filter at least once a week, and more often if necessary, as
follows:
1. Wash the filter in hot soapy water.
2. Rinse well to eliminate any trace of soap.
3. Press dry in a terry towel.
4. Allow to dry completely before reinstalling. Do not use a filter that is not completely
dry.
5. Reinstall the filter at the rear of the device.
Optional filter
The high-efficiency filter, which is offered as an option, cannot be washed and therefore
must be discarded. It must be changed at least once a month and more frequently if
