SECTION 8
8 MAINTENANCE
8.1 MAINTENANCE
PONYBENCH BTPLUS does not require any special
maintenance because the pins and sliding surfaces
operate on long-life self-lubricating bushes. You are
nevertheless advised to constantly monitor the lift and
take immediate action whenever faults, abnormal wear or
failures occur.
8.2 ROUTINE MAINTENANCE
To guarantee the effi ciency and correct operation of
PONYBENCHBT you must follow the instructions below,
cleaning and maintaining the appliance periodically to
ensure operation and best use. Cleaning and routine
maintenance must be done by qualifi ed personnel
following the instructions below whilst observing the safety
regulations.
The frequency of the various maintenance jobs listed
here is purely a guideline and refer to normal operating
conditions.
CAUTION! Conditions may vary according to
type of service, use frequency, and environment
in which PONYBENCH BTPLUS operates. In
case of heavy-duty use, maintenance should
be more frequent. When topping up the level,
changing the oil or greasing, always use the
same type of lubricants used previously.
Carefully clean the greasing points with
compressed air before lubricating, to prevent
dust, dirt or foreign bodies from mixing with
the lubricant.
8.2.1 DAILY:
•
Before starting work, check the operation of the
emergency stop button.
•
Check correct operation of the ascent limit-switch by
running an ascent - descent cycle.
•
Make sure that there are no leaks of hydraulic oil from
the lift jack and from the connecting pipes (if there are,
contact your dealer).
8.2.2 WEEKLY:
•
Lubricate and grease sliding and hinge points using
the safety hook lubricator.
•
Check oil level in the control unit tank: the level
should be near the fi lling/control plug. If necessary,
top up the tank with oil such as with hydraulic oil (e.g.
ESSO NUTO H 46), through the hole of the fi lling/
control plug. Always use the same type of oil for this
operation. If you wish to use oil of the same type but
of a different brand, you are advised to wait until the oil
change.
CAUTION! When topping up the level, changing
the oil or greasing, always use the same type of
lubricants used previously. Carefully clean the
greasing points with compressed air before
lubricating, to prevent dust, dirt or foreign
bodies from mixing with the lubricant.
8.2.3 MONTHLY
•
Check the tightness of the bolts securing the base to
the lift.
•
Check the condition of the structures and of parts
which can wear out: if necessary, replace worn or
damaged parts.
8.2.4 EVERY TWO YEARS:
Change the system's hydraulic oil.
WARNING! Observe the laws in force in the
country where the appliance is being used
as regards use and disposal of the products
used for cleaning and maintenance, observing
the
prescriptions
manufacturers of these products.
8.3 EXTRAORDINARY MAINTENANCE
Extraordinary maintenance (repairs of parts or assemblies)
must be affected only by specialised personnel authorised
by the Manufacturer.
Work on the hydraulic and electrical system, however minor,
are considered extraordinary maintenance operations,
because they must be performed by highly specialised
personnel. Requests for such work must be sent directly
to SPANESI S.p.A. by fax (preferably telephoning as well),
specifying the type of request or problem and the lift's
serial number (shown on the identifi cation plate Figure 1).
