Draining cooking liquid

WARNING: Risk of scalding:
When draining water without a fixed drain
connection: First let appliance cool down. To
collect the water, place an appropriate
container with sufficient capacity under the
appliance.
Note:
If you don't have a fixed drain connection, you
must install the AG 060 000 drain installation set and
put a temperature-resistant container of appropriate
size (at least 10 l) under the drain valve.
Open drain valve

Turn temperature control knob left to the ¤
position.

Turn timer control knob left to the ¤ position and
hold it at this position.
A signal sounds. After a few seconds, ¤ blinks on the
display. The drain valve is opened. When the drain
valve is open, ¤ lights up steadily.
Close drain valve

Turn temperature control knob left to the ¤
position.
2
Turn timer control knob right to the @ position and
hold it in this position.
A signal sounds. After a few seconds, ¤ blinks on the
display. The drain valve is closed. As soon as the drain
valve is closed, ¤ goes out.
Note:
If the drain valve is not completely opened or
closed, ¤ blinks on the display.

Appliance's range of uses

Steaming
For example vegetables, potatoes
Fill the steamer up to the lower marking and
preheat the appliance to the steam cooking
setting position ¥.
Put the cooking insert with the food into the
appliance. If you wish to use two cooking inserts
at the same time, first put the perforated insert
into the appliance and then the unperforated
insert over it.
Put the glass cover back on. You can accentuate
the flavor of the food by replacing the water with a
liquid that fits the food (e.g. vegetable bouillon,
fish stock, meat broth).
Boiling
For example pasta
Fill the steamer up to the overflow edge at the
most and preheat the appliance to the steam
cooking setting position ¥.
We recommend that you put on the glass cover.
Use the pasta basket (accessory FK 023 000).
Blanching
For example vegetables
Fill the steamer up to the lower marking and
preheat the appliance to the steam cooking
setting position ¥.
Put the vegetables into the unperforated cooking
insert.
After 1 - 2 minutes, put the vegetables into ice
water to cool them down quickly. Let the
vegetables drip dry.
Simmering
For example sausage
Fill the cooking basin up to the overflow edge at
the most.
Turn the temperature control knob to a
temperature between 100 and 200°F and preheat
the steamer.
We recommend that you put on the glass cover.
Use the pasta basket (accessory FK 023 000).
Keeping warm
For example meat, vegetables, side dishes
Fill the steamer up to the lower marking.
Set the temperature control knob to 170 - 190°F
and preheat the steamer.
Put the cooking insert with the food into the
appliance.
