Tip: Before using the answering system, you must set the date and time. To do this, read the section "Set Date
& Time" (See p12).
• Set the answering system functions
1. Press [Menu] to access the main menu. Scroll down to the symbol
system menu.
2. Scroll down to the "Ans/Ring" menu and press [OK].
3. Use the keys to select "Answer/2-ring", "Answer/4-ring", "Answer/6-ring", "Answer/8-ring", "Announce
Only", "Answer OFF".
4. Press [OK] to confirm your choice.
Tip: When the answering system is on ("Answer/2-ring", "Answer/4-ring", "Answer/6-ring", "Answer/8-ring"),
The green LED on the base station lights up to indicate that the answering system is active and that messages can
be recorded in the corresponding mode.

• Recording an announcement

2. Choose the item "Play recording" from the menu and press [OK]. The desired message is then read. You can
stop listening to the announcement at any time by pressing [Stop]
• Messages
The icon is displayed if new messages have been registered. On the base station, the green (Message/line)

• Using the automatic answering system from the handset:
