Safety instructions for cleaning and
maintenance
• In case of breakdown or malfunctioning,
switch off the appliance and unplug it
from the mains. Do not try to repair the
coffee maker yourself. Contact an
authorised Technical Assistance Service
and insist on the use of original spare
parts and accessories.
• Unplug the coffee maker before carrying
out any cleaning or maintenance. The
coffee maker must not be under
pressure.
• Do not plug in or unplug the coffee
maker with wet hands.
• Make sure the coffee maker does not get
wet.
• Do not submerge the appliance in
water.
This appliance must only be used to make
coffee, froth milk or heat up water in
accordance with these instructions.
This coffee maker is for domestic use only.
The manufacturers will not be liable for any
damage caused by using it for other
purposes, incorrect use or repairs carried
out by non-qualified persons.
4. PREPARING THE COFFEE MAKER

The inside of the coffee maker should be
cleaned before using it for the first time. To
do this, fill the tank with water and run the
coffee maker without any coffee in it until
the tank is emptied twice.
Method:
• Open the lid and remove the tank (1).
• Fill the tank with cold water and put it
back on the coffee maker (2) and (3).
Push the tank base firmly down so that
the valve fits correctly in its housing.
• Fit the filter holder "n" onto the brew
head "t" ", pulling the filter closer "o"
back towards you, and turn the filter
holder to the right until it closes correctly
(4). To remove it, pull the filter closer
back and turn the filter holder to the left
until it is released.

• Plug in the coffee maker.
• Turn the coffee/steam selector switch
"d", to
position. Switch on the
coffee maker with the 0/I switch "c" (5).
• The red heating light "f" will remain on
while the coffee maker is heating up (6).
• When the coffee maker reaches its
optimum functioning temperature, the red
light "f" will switch off and the green On
light "g", will come on, indicating that the
coffee maker is ready.
• Place a container under the filter holder

Allow all the water to flow out of the tank. If
necessary, stop the process by turning the
dial to "0", and empty the container. Repeat
the process twice.
5. WARMING CUPS

Cups can be warmed on the coffee maker
in two ways.
Method 1
• Fill the tank and fit it onto the coffee
maker (1-3).. Fit the filter holder "n" onto
the brew head "t" pulling the filter closer
"o" back and turning the filter holder to
the right until it closes correctly (4).
• Switch on the coffee maker with the 0/I
switch "c".. Place one or two cups under
the filter holder. When the green On light
"g", comes on, turn the dial "e" to the
right, to
, and allow the hot water
to circulate to heat up the filter holder
and warm the cups (8).
• After the cups have been filled, turn the
dial "e" to its central position (0).
Method 2
Place the cups for espresso coffee upside
down on the warming plate "h" (9) and
leave them there. When the coffee maker is
ready to function, the warmer will heat up
the plate.
