Testing the chemical protection
suit
Check for leaks
Necessary accessories:
— Test cap (R 53 289)

— Filling hose (11 98 343)
Close the zipper completely and lay the suit on the
ground.
Remove the protective cap
from a suit valve, take out the
valve disk, attach the test cap
and connect with the com-
pressed air
pistol (1).
Connect the compressed air
pistol to the test device (2).
The coupling must engage.
Screw the adaptor into the
round thread connection (3)
and connect with the filling hose.
Remove the protective cap from the second suit valve,
take out the valve disk, attach the test cap and connect
with the filling hose (4).
Carefully close all the other openings in the chemical
protection suit.
Open the compressed air supply.
Activate the measuring point
"Round thread connection" (5).
Inflate the protection suit with the compressed air pistol
without creases until the filling pressure
reached.
The filling pressure is displayed on the low pressure
manometer.

Set the settling time
Wait until the settling time is complete so that a pres-
sure and temperature compensation can take place.
Protect the protection suit against drafts.

Set the test pressure
Set the test time and start the timer (6).
Read the pressure at the end of the test time and com-
pare the pressure difference with the target value
1) The adaptor must have a hole throughout its entire length.
Drill hole with a 5 mm bit if necessary.

Testing the suit valve
Necessary accessories:
— Valve test plug (R 53 287)
Moisten valve disc and insert it.
Open the zipper.
Press the valve test plug into
the suit valve from inside.

Set the test time
Open the compressed air sup-
ply.
Activate the measuring point
"Round thread connection" (4).
Generate the test pressure
(5).
Start the timer (3).
Read the pressure at the end of the test time and com-
pare the pressure difference with the target value
Ending the test
Depressurize the line system.
Remove the test assembly.
Cleaning and storage
Deaerate the test head.
Clean the device with a damp leather cloth and allow to
dry.
Strictly follow ISO 2230 or the national "Regulations for
the storage, maintenance and cleaning of rubber prod-
ucts".
