5. Functions for setting parameters and test
functions
i The warm-up phase is not waited for in test mode.
Therefore, if measurements are taken in this mode, take zero-
point drift into account.
The following settings, displays and test functions are possible in
conjunction with the respective test system.
Displaying and changing:
- date and time
- lambda computation
- O
measurement
2
- CO
computation
vrai
Displaying:
- date for next maintenance work
- leakage test interval
- HC residue test before
each measurement
- maintenance interval in days and date
for next maintenance work
- interval for re-adjusting using test gas in days
- date for next re-adjustment due
- test-gas components for re-adjustment
- consequences if date for re-adjusting is
not kept to
- change of CO
setting
vrai
- settings in compliance with
country-specific regulations
Test functions:

- carrying out a leakage test

- confirmation of maintenance work carried out

- re-adjusting using test gas

- adjusting a new O
sensor

- O
measurement via test-gas intake

5.1
Re-adjusting using test gas
The After-Sales Service Department sets the parameters of the
measuring instrument to comply with the regulations that apply in
your country. A test-gas mixture is required for carrying out re-
adjustment, which has the following concentrations (as required):
HC:
200 to 2000 ppm vol. C
CO:
1 % vol. to 10 % vol. CO
CO
: 5 % vol. to 18 % vol. CO
2
The test gas must be fed into the test-gas inlet/gas outlet (12) via
a viton hose at a flow rate of approx. 1 l/min. The flow rate is
indicated.
! ! ! ! ! Only connect the test gas hose when the test system signals
you to do so!

Carrying out a leakage test
A leakage test can be carried out on the sampling system in
conjunction with the respective test system.
For this purpose, you must seal the sampling probe (9).
The sampling probe of the exhaust-gas measuring
instrument may also become very hot depending on the
duration of the exhaust-gas measurement.
5.3
Installing and adjusting the O
- Disconnect the exhaust-gas measuring instrument from the
mains.
- Remove the protective cap (20) from the O
- Remove the jack from the O
of the instrument and unscrew the O
- Screw in the new O
sensor by hand (do not use a tool!)

and reconnect the jack.
- Refit the protective cap (20).
- Reconnect the exhaust-gas measuring instrument to the
mains.
The new O
sensor is adjusted under the test functions of the
2
respective test system.
i After being unpacked, the O
30 minutes to attain the necessary level of measuring
accuracy.

torate) VPB/07/24/20.

*) Interval for re-adjusting using a test-gas mixture is extended
to 365 days after the long-term stability of the instrument has
been confirmed.

the software of the test system.
