Problem
The espresso comes out at

Possible Cause
The filter holder was not inserted cor-
rectly or was not closed tightly enough.
There is too much coffee powder in the
filter insert.
There is coffee grounds residue on the
rubber seal of the brew head.
The cups were not preheated.
The coffee powder is too coarse or it has
not been distributed evenly.
There is too little coffee powder in the
filter insert.
The coffee powder is too fine or has
been pressed on too firmly.
There was too much coffee powder in
the filter insert.
Unsuitable espresso powder was
chosen.
The milk system is blocked.
The milk is unsuitable.
The milk is not cold enough.
The milk nozzle is dirty.
No water in the water tank.
Descaling alarm to remind you to des-
cale the appliance.
Remedy
Stop the Brewing Process!
Insert the filter holder correctly as described
under "Assembly / Disassembly of the Filter
Holder".
Remove any excess coffee powder.
Switch off the appliance and let it cool
down.
Clean the rubber seal as described.
Rinse the cups with hot water.
Use the tamper supplied to help you.
Depending on the filter insert used (1 cup or
2 cups), fill one or two measuring spoonfuls
into the filter ice pack (one measuring spoon-
ful = 1 cup).
Loosen the coffee powder. Distribute it evenly
and press it only lightly with the tamper.
Use less coffee powder. Depending on the
filter insert used (1 cup or 2 cups), fill one or
two measuring spoonfuls into the filter ice
pack (one measuring spoonful = 1 cup).
Change the brand if necessary.
Clean the milk tank and the milk nozzle as
described.
Use milk with a fat content of at least 3 % fat.
Use chilled milk.
Clean the milk nozzle as described.
Fill the water tank with water.
Descale the appliance as described.
