Depth Limiter

The depth limiter (Special Accessories)
is intended only for the use on the STIHL
MS 460 Rescue Saw. The cutting depth
or plunge depth of the cutting
attachment can be set by means of a
sliding metal sleeve that is movable
within a preset range along a specially
prepared guidebar. Its sole purpose is to
limit the depth of entry into material.
Chain sprocket cover
If the spacer washers (1), cover (2) and
spiked bumper (3) are mounted as
shown in the illustration - go straight to
„Mounting the Depth Limiter,"
Rescue Saw
Repositioning bumper spike
: Remove the chain sprocket cover,
: Take the bumper spike off the chain
sprocket cover,
: Take the bumper strips (1) out of the
chain sprocket cover.
: Remove the screws (2).

: Fit the M 5x20 screws (3) as shown
in the illustration,
: Refit the bumper strips (1).
