ELECTRICAL LOCKS
Troubleshooting an electrical lock is easy:
− If the module door opener tones are heard but
the lock is not operated, the fault is either in the
section between the module and the lock or in the
module control circuit.
− On the other hand, if no tones are heard (and the
lock is not operated), the door opener command
is not reaching the module. Seek the fault from
apartment station side.
REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE
Fully replace the module in the event of failures. If
many door opener codes are programmed, you can
remove the integrated circuit where the codes are
stored and fit it in the new module.
The name memory can be replaced in the same way.
− Power down the old calling module 1038/16.
− Remove the rear cover by loosening the four pre-
fitted screws.
− Remove the integrated circuit U3 and U4.
− Remove the rear cover from the new module;
replace the integrated circuit U3. Make sure the
direction is correct (see notch on the component
and socket); replace integrated circuit U4, taking
care to orient it correctly on installation (chamfered
corner of U4 towards U3).
− Reposition the rear cover and refasten the four
pre-fit screws.
− IMPORTANT: The serial number of the new
calling module will automatically become that
of the old calling module after replacing the
memory board. Change the serial number
on the label (7) on the back of the module by
hand.
− Power up the new calling module.

The additional alphabetical keypad Ref. 1038/73
can be used to enter letters in calling codes and
special codes. This device is used with a calling
module Ref. 1038/16 and connected by means of a
specific connection wire. In any case, arrange the
device UNDER (or by the SIDE if this is not possible)
the calling module Ref. 1038/16.
