Requirement of 3-A Standard 88
The distance from the floor to the lowest part of the machine frame must be at least
102 mm (4 inches). If the midpoint of the machine frame is farther than 308 mm
(12.5 inches) from the outside edge, a minimum ground clearance of 152 mm (6 inches)
or the distance required in the 3-A standard must be maintained.

Cleaning and disinfection
8.1 General information
The leveling foot must be cleaned thoroughly after installation and before the first use.
Cleaning intervals and any necessary disinfection intervals must be adapted to the
existing cleanliness requirements and the cleaning/disinfection plan. Cleaning at least
daily is recommended, but no later than when dirt is visible. If disinfection is necessary,
this must be performed after a cleaning.
The cleaning and disinfection procedures must be selected to avoid damaging the
surfaces or impairing the properties of the leveling foot components. In particular, care
must be taken not to damage the seals during cleaning.
The leveling foot may not be cleaned with abrasive means, such as laser beams, ultra-
sound or dry ice.
Use only clean utensils (e.g. soft cloth, brush with soft bristles) that will not damage the
surface. Before using the cleaning utensils, make sure that they are clean. Hard or sharp
objects (e.g. steel brushes, steel wool) must not be used.
Impermissible and unsuitable cleaning agents can damage the leveling foot and the
seals and must not be used.
For wet cleaning and disinfection, the manufacturer of the cleaning agent or disinfectant
must be consulted regarding the seal material* and its resistance to the cleaning agent,
the appropriate cleaning temperature and the disinfectant to be used.
* Guide values for resistances:
Properties
Acid resistance
Alkali resistance
Oil resistance
Fuel resistance
Solvent resistance
Steam resistance
Ozone resistance
Weather resistance
A = Very good, very low or no susceptibility
B = Good, low to moderate susceptibility
C = Satisfactory, moderate to severe susceptibility
D = Insufficient, not recommended for the application
8.2 Dry cleaning
We recommend removing dry dirt using the cleaning utensils described in 8.1 without liquids
until the desired level of cleanliness is reached.
Hard dirt particles (such as sand) can damage the smooth surfaces of the leveling foot
during mechanical cleaning. Work carefully to avoid damaging the surfaces or allowing dirt
to penetrate below the seal.
8.3 Wet cleaning
Procedure:
- Wash off the leveling foot with water.
- Lather up all surfaces.
We recommend using an alkaline cleaner (observe the manufacturer's specified contact
time and mixing ratio).
- Wash off foam with water. Light water pressure up to max. 10 bar is permitted. The
cleaning stream should be directed downward but at a maximum angle of 60°. All
surfaces must be reached. Ensure that none of the areas are left unsprayed, as this would
result in inadequate cleaning.
- Ensure that the seals are not damaged or destroyed by a direct stream at high pressure
If manual cleaning is also required due to the level of soiling, observe the instructions in
8.1 and 8.2.
8.4 Disinfection
For disinfection, observe the instructions of the disinfectant manufacturer concerning use,
contact time and other aspects.
9.
Operation
The leveling foot may only be operated in a clean condition.
During operation, particular attention must be paid to ensuring clean surfaces in the
area around the seal.

The material stainless steel AISI 304 should not be used in contact with
ocean water or in swimming pools.
For the material stainless steel AISI 304, corrosion can occur after
prolonged contact with high chloride or acid concentrations. These
substances can be found, for example, in foods, service water, cleaning
agents and disinfectants.
Cleaning at shorter intervals and monitoring of the material surface are
recommended. If corrosion begins to set in, the part should be
replaced.
