WARNING! The text and figures of these instructions are
for the installation of the child car seat on the left back seat.
When fitting the child car seat in other positions these oper-
ations should in any case be carried out in the same order.
WARNING! The use of LATCH connectors for installing the
car seat is optional, if the LATCH connectors are not used, pull
the adjustment strap for the LATCH connectors (F) so that the
connectors do not interfere with the seat belt.
If using the LATCH connectors, proceed as follows:
- Remove the seat belt guide located in a compartment un-
der the car seat (Fig. 6).
- Pull the extraction lever (D) and extract both LATCH connec-
tors (Fig. 7A and 7B).
- Find the hooks on the seat of the vehicle for fastening the
connectors and hook up both connectors (Fig. 8).
- Pull the adjustment strap for the LATCH connectors (F) and
push the car seat against the seat of the vehicle so that the
car seat rests firmly against the backrest of the vehicle (Fig. 9).
- Have the child sit in place and check that the child's back
rests firmly against the seat of the vehicle (Fig. 10).
- Adjust the length of the strap (J) so that the belt guide (K)
reaches the height of the child's shoulder (Fig.11).
WARNING! When the child is sitting in the child car seat,
check that the child's ears are always lower than the level of
the backrest or headrest of the vehicle seat (Fig. 12).
- Fasten the vehicle seat belt ensuring that the abdominal
portion passes under the armrests (B) of the child car seat
(Fig. 13).
- Run the diagonal portion of the seat belt through the belt
guide (K) (Fig. 14).
WARNING! Check that the belt guide (K) is properly posi-
tioned when in use (Fig. 15).
WARNING! Always be sure that the back of the child car seat
rests firmly against the seat of the vehicle.
WARNING! Check that the vehicle seat belt has been tight-
ened properly and that the abdominal portion is positioned
over the lowest part of the child's pelvic area.
WARNING! Check that the vehicle safety belt is tightened
properly.
WARNING! Check that the vehicle safety belt is free of knots
(Fig. 16).
WARNING! Check that the diagonal portion of the safety
belt is always positioned at the correct height relative to the
child's chest and neck, passing mid-shoulder and resting
snugly against the child's chest.
WARNING! Check that the car seat belt adjuster is reclined or
at least aligned with the car seat backrest (Fig. 5).
WARNING! Never pass the vehicle seat belt in positions oth-
er than those indicated in this instruction booklet (Fig. 17A,
17B, 17C).
WARNING! Make sure that your child is correctly secured in
the child car seat, so that he does not slide forward (Fig. 18).
WARNING! Check that unused LATCH connectors have been
put away in the rear compartments.
