PREPARATION FOR WORK
FITTING AN AUXILIARY HANDLE
It is recommended to use an auxiliary handle for the grinder. The auxiliary
handle (8) is installed in one of the holes in the grinder housing (fig. A). If you
hold the sander while working with both hands (also using the auxiliary
handle) there is less risk of losing control of the machine.
SANDING PAPER ATTACHMENT
The sander has a working disc with so-called Velcro, which allows the sanding
paper to be changed easily and quickly.
• Bring the abrasive paper close to the working disc (10) so that its holes
• "a" coincide with the holes in the sanding disc and press down to ensure
effective dust extraction (Fig. B).
• To remove the sandpaper, pivot it on one side and then pull (fig. C).
Use perforated abrasive paper so that the dust can reach the dust
extraction system through the holes in the working disc. Before
changing the abrasive paper each time, clean the work disc by
removing dust and any debris from the disc with a brush or brush,
for example.
DUST EXTRACTION
• Push the end of the suction hose onto the dust extraction port
• (4) (Figure D).
• Connect the other end of the suction hose to a suction system such as
a dust bag or workshop hoover.
• Set the correct suction power by turning the suction adjustment knob (7) to
the left or right (Fig. E).
MOUNTING AND ADJUSTMENT OF THE SHOULDER STRAP
When fitting and adjusting the shoulder belt, switch off the grinder
motor.
The right fit of the shoulder strap, makes work much easier. The shoulder
strap is particularly useful when working at height.
• Place the shoulder strap snap hooks into the shoulder strap hooks
(1).
• Use the shoulder belt buckle to adjust the length of the shoulder belt
(Fig. F).
OPERATION / SETTINGS
The mains voltage must correspond to the voltage specified on
the grinder's rating plate.
• Switching on - press switch button (6). Switching off - release pressure
on the switch button (6). Locking the switch (continuous operation)
Switching on:
• Press the on/off button (6) and hold in this position.
• Press the switch lock button (5) (Fig. G).
• Release pressure on the switch button (6).
Switching off:
• Press and release the pressure on the switch button (6).
SPEED CONTROL
There is a speed adjustment knob (3) on the body of the sander. The speed
is selected as required (depending on the abrasive paper used, the hardness
of the workpiece, the type of work, etc.). Turning the speed control knob (3)
increases or decreases the speed of the working disc (fig. H).
GRINDING WORK
The surfaces to be machined should be dry and free of foreign
matter such as screws, nails, etc.
Hold the sander securely with both hands.
• Switch on the grinder and wait for the working disc to reach maximum
speed.
• Apply the entire surface of the work disc to the work surface (the
movable work disc guard automatically adjusts to the surface).
• Exerting moderate pressure, move the sander across the work
surface in circular or alternating transverse and longitudinal
movements.
• Excessive pressure does not lead to an increase in sanding
performance, but can cause faster wear of the sanding machine
components and sandpaper.
• If the working disc is moved away from the sanding surface during
1 pc.
14 pcs.
operation, dust will escape to the outside of the machine and thus into
1 pc.
the working room.
• The performance and quality of the sanded surface largely depends on the
1 pc.
type of abrasive paper used and the contact pressure. The type of
sanding paper is best selected by trial.
• When finishing sanding, reduce pressure on the sander, switch off the
motor.
• Replace the sandpaper when wear is observed.
• Use periodic breaks.
Do not start the grinder if its work wheel is resting against the
work surface.
EMPTYING THE DUST BAG
If the filling level of the dust bag is high, the suction power
decreases.
• To empty the dust bag, slide out the slat at the bottom of the bag and
remove the contents (gypsum dust).
• After emptying the bag, slide the slat onto the guides so that the entire
opening is covered.
OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE
Disconnect the unit from the mains supply before carrying out
any adjustment, maintenance or repair work.
• Keep the grinder clean at all times.
• Do not use water or other liquids for cleaning.
• The sander should be cleaned with a brush.
• Clean the ventilation slots regularly to prevent the grinder motor from
overheating.
• If there is excessive sparking on the commutator, check the condition
of the motor's carbon brushes.
• Always store the grinder in a dry place out of the reach of children.
REPLACEMENT OF THE WORKING DISC
A worn or damaged working disc should be replaced immediately.
• Loosen and unscrew the screw securing the work disc (10) (Fig. I).
• Replace the working disc with a new one, fix with a screw.
REPLACEMENT OF CARBON BRUSHES
Worn (shorter than 5 mm), burnt or cracked motor carbon brushes must
be replaced immediately. Always replace both carbon brushes at the
same time.
• Unscrew the carbon brush covers (2).
• Remove used carbon brushes.
• Remove any carbon dust, using low pressure compressed air.
• Insert new carbon brushes (brushes should slide freely into
brushstops).
• Fit the carbon brush covers (2).
After replacing the carbon brushes, the grinder must be run at no
load for approx. 3 minutes to allow the carbon brushes to fit the
motor commutator. It is recommended that carbon brush
replacement should only be carried out by a qualified person
using original parts.
Any defects should be rectified by the manufacturer's authorised service
department.
