4. Motor adjustment

4.1 Adjustment of the valve set

When carrying out repair or maintenance of the diesel engine, it is
necessary to check the clearance between valves and rocker seat as
described in the following figure:
A: Adjusting exhaust and intake valves.
B: adjustment screw between rocker seat and valve stopper
1. Remove the caps covering the rocker arms (top of cylinder heads)
2. Remove the cover over the flywheel or magnetic plate (opposite the
alternator)
3. Turn the crankshaft to the first stop position of the piston and cylinder
(top dead center), when the wheel scale "O" in the magnetic plate points
exactly to the indicator in the gear cover is in the correct position for
adjusting the valves of the first cylinder.
4. Check and adjust the bolt (Figure B) using a flat screwdriver into the
head of the screw to raise or lower the seesaw giving more or less
clearance for the valves and use a wrench 8mm to fix it with the correct
clearance inserting gauges with the correct separation (0.20 admission
and exhaust 0.25)
5. Repeat the process according to the work order of 1-3-4-2 cylinders
rotating the crankshaft 180º
