Connecting and disconnecting the PTO drive shaft
1. Prior to the first use, check the length of the PTO drive shaft in all operating modes to prevent a
compression or insufficient profile overlapping (see Chapter 2.4.2 on page 37).
2. Attach the PTO drive shaft to the implement and tractor (see Locking mechanisms from page 514
to 520).
3. Attach the PTO drive shaft's restraint chain in such a way that it ensures sufficient swivel range in
all operating modes. Attach the chain at a right angle to the PTO drive shaft.
Friction clutches limit the torque in the event of an over-
load and momentary torque peaks and transfer it evenly
throughout the slack period. To ensure proper functioning,
the friction clutches must be run in before being used for the
first time or after being at a standstill for a longer period of
time. Observe the maintenance notes for friction clutches
(see Chapter 4.4 on page 42).
Overrunning clutches protect the drive unit against rotating
masses (e.g. after switching off the PTO). Observe the main-
tenance notes for overrunning clutches (see Chapter 4.3 on
page 43).
Friction-overrunning clutches are a combination of friction
and overrunning clutches.
Observe the maintenance notes for friction and overrunning
clutches (see Chapter 4.4 on page 42).
