7.0.7 DISTRIBUTOR
The doser with all its component parts, like the totally closed
adjustment mechanism, are manufactured in stainless steel.
Likewise, all the screws and rotating bearings used in the doser
are made of stainless steel. The doser can be washed with
water once the injection tube and the dosing roller have been
removed but it is not possible to use high-pressure water jet
systems as they could damage the rotating bearings. If the
machine is very dirty, it might be necessary to disassemble some
of its parts, as described earlier. Especially in the case of
fertilizers, it is advisable to carry out thorough cleaning in order to
guarantee top quality performance of the doser for as long as
possible. GASPARDO doser hoppers, being located behind the
doser, are extremely easy to clean, a feature practically non-existent
in other models. No other doser maintenance is necessary.
The adjuster mechanism is also made of stainless steel and is
totally closed. It too can be washed with water, if special attention
is paid to the seals of the shaft (it is important not to strike the
sealing rings with high pressure water jets). A soft brush may be
used to remove the worst of the dirt. Soap-based detergent may
also be used although it is not necessary. Under no circumstances
may chemical detergents such as diluents, or pickling agents
such as acids, petrol etc be used. When cleaning takes place
outside, the relevant environmental protection regulations must
be observed.
7.0.8 REST PERIODS
At the end of the season, or if a long period of rest is foreseen it
is advisable to:
- Wash the equipment thoroughly with water, especially the
chemical substance hoppers, then dry them.
- Carefully check for worn or damaged parts and replace then
where required.
- Firmly tighten all screws and bolts.
- Oil all the drive chains and apply lubricant to all unpainted parts.
- Protect the equipment with a (nylon) cover.
- Then position it stably in a dry place out of the reach of
unauthorized people.
It is in the interests of the user to follow these instructions carefully,
as when work recommences, he will find the equipment in perfect
condition.
7.0.9 RECOMMENDED LUBRICANTS
- For lubrication in general, we advise: AGIP ACER 22 OIL or
equivalent, for specification see last cover page.
- For all greasing points we advise: AGIP GR MU EP 2 GREASE or
equivalent for specifications see last cover page.

USE AND MAINTENANCE
7.1 SUGGESTIONS IN CASE OF INCONVENIENCES
7.1.1 CLOGGING OF THE PIPES
- The blades are clogged with wet soil
- The distribution pipes are bent somewhere.
- Foreign bodies in the distributor or blade.
- Respect the rpm, 540 or 1000, of the power take-off.
- To control the pressure of the circuit of the oil.
7.1.2 THE AMOUNT OF PRODUCT IN KG/HA DOES NOT
CORRESPOND TO THE VALUES OF THE ROTATION TEST
The causes involved in the excessive amount of product
dispersed may be:
- during the rotation test the drive transmission wheel was turned
too fast.
The causes involved in an insufficient amount of product
dispersed may be:
- dosing unit access clogged by foreign bodies.
- during the rotation test the empty weight of the collecting
container was not taken into account and deducted.
The differences due to slipping or excessive distribution at the
beginning of the field, are around 2-4%. Greater deviations can
be traced back exclusively to errors in the rotation test, to a wrong
transmission ratio or similar causes.
8.0 DEMOLITION AND DISPOSAL
This operation is to be carried out by the customer.
Before demolishing the machine, you are advised to carefully
check its physical condition and ascertain whether there are any
parts of the structure that may be susceptible to structural collapse
or breakage during demolition.
The customer should operate in compliance with the environment
protection laws in force in his/her country.
The machine demolition operations should be carried out by
skilled personnel only, equipped with suitable protective
clothing (safety footwear and gloves) and auxiliary tools and
equipment.
All the disassembly operations for demolition should be carried
out with the machine stopped and detached from the tractor.
Before demolishing the machine, you are advised to render
harmless all the parts that may be a source of danger and
therefore:
- scrap the structure using specialized firms,
- remove any electrical apparatus according to the laws in force,
- collect oils and greases separately, to be disposed of through
specialized firms, in accordance with the regulations of the
country in which the machine was used.
When the machine is demolished the CE mark should be
destroyed together with this manual.
Last but not least, we remind you that the Manufacturer is
always available for any and all necessary assistance and
spares.
