Mounting:
The unit must be installed onto a solid surface. The
CVL could be installed onto floor stand, onto wall brack-
et, suspended from the ceiling, or installed onto other
equipment.
The CVL chamber, and thus the inlet, may be rotated
270 deg. in relation to the back console, to support
easy installation.
The piping must be supported securely, to avoid frac-
tures and leaks. In case suction hose is used, it must
be supported as well, and be guided with a min. bend
radius of 300 mm to counteract the components block-
ing up in the hose.
All piping must be installed prior to connection of com-
pressed air and electricity, to avoid any injury, see sec-
tion "Warning notes".
Kongskilde recommends that stainless steel pipes
are used for component transport, as this will facilitate
cleaning, and minimize smudging of the components. In
addition, it may be necessary to install potential equal-
ising and antistatic equipment - avoiding static elec-
tricity can prevent component clogging and contamina-
tion. See section "Electrical installation".
Kongskilde offers a FK160 stainless and electropol-
ished outlet pipe, for installation under the bottom valve
- see later in this section. The pipe is necessary to
avoid contact with the bottom valve, see section
"Warning notes".
Distance between bends
For maximum capacity, there should be a minimum
distance of 2 meters between changes in flow direction,
i.e. between each bend.
Insertion of bends
Never insert two bends right after each other, if these
can be replaced by one, as this may result in damage
to components and loss of capacity.

Connections and centring
All pipe joints must be tight and without offsets, as
these could damage the components!
When assembling pipes, bends and other material in-
tended for transport at high air velocity, it is important
to centre the pipes as accurately as possible to each
other.
One can not always assume, that the pipe is centred
by the clamp alone. Bolt clamps are designed to clamp
the OK flanges very hard together, to ensure high tight-
ness. This causes the friction between the pipes to be
so high, that the clamps can not centre the pipes.
To check if the pipes are centred, check that the dis-
tance between the clamp and the pipe is equal on both
sides of the clamp.
If you want a very close connection, you can wrap the
assembly with sealing tape before attaching the clamp.
The air supply must be dry enough to avoid ice forma-
tion at temperatures below 2°C, and must not contain
oil (oil mist device must not be installed).
However, if the conveyed components allow this, an oil
mist device can be installed. This will increase the life
of the cylinders, but once the lubrication process has
begun, it should be continued, as it removes the factory
pre applied lubrication.
In addition, it is recommended to install a water separa-
tor in the compressed air supply, as well as a pressure
regulator.
The CVL must be installed indoors, in ambient temper-
ature between 0° and 50° C.
If desired, air pipes can be installed instead of the si-
lencers, on the solenoid valves in the back console.
These pipes can be routed from the room in which
the CVL is installed. This will avoid the compressed
air being blown into the production room, which may
be desirable in clean room production. Please contact
Kongskilde for further information.
