Resetting custom passwords
By activating this function, all passwords are reset to
the initial passwords of the access data letter.
The network settings are also reset and the saved
network profiles are deleted.
It is recommended to create a backup of your set-
tings before a reset.
g Follow the installation instructions for the Home
Energy Manager.
Service
Displaying device and connection information
This information refers to the data on the device or
the existing network connection, such as:
the version number of the software (changes
with each software update)
the IP addresses that can be used to access the
Energy Manager
In the event of an error message, this data is required
by the Porsche Dealership.
Downloading software updates
The Energy Manager can be updated to the latest
software version both automatically and manually.
The software version that was just installed can be
viewed in the Device information.
Download automatically
Information
The Energy manager must have an Internet connec-
tion for automatic software updates.
Software updates are installed automatically when
the function is activated.

dates.
Downloading software manually
As an option for automatic updating, you can also
search for a software update manually.
Option 1: Updating with an existing Internet
connection of the Energy Manager
1. Select Search for software updates button.
�� New software updates are searched in the
background. New software updates are of-
fered for download.
2. Start downloading the software update.
3. Install the software update.
Option 2: Updating without an existing Internet
connection of the Energy Manager
b The Energy Manager and end device are in the
same network.
1. Open https://tinyurl.com/porsche-e-help in the
browser on the end device and navigate to the
software update page of the charging hardware.
You will find the software updates after selecting
the Home Energy Manager and entering the se-
rial number.
2. Search for the current software version and
download it to the end device.
3. Select Upload update file in the Web Application.
4. Navigate to the file and load it.
5. Select Start update in the dialog.
�� The software update is loaded and installed.
The system is restarted.
Saving and restoring a backup
Your configuration settings and already collected
data can be saved using a backup. If necessary, the
backup can restore these settings, e. g. after reset-
ting to factory settings. Backups can be created au-
tomatically (recommended) and manually.
Store backups automatically
When this function is activated, the backups are
stored on the connected USB storage device auto-
matically.
1. Insert the USB storage medium into one of the
two USB ports of the Energy Manager. A prereq-
uisite is that the USB storage medium has an
ext4 or FAT32 file system.
2. Activating the function.
3. Password assigned: Enter password.
�� The password protects your data and must
be checked when importing or restoring the
backup.
Information
It is still possible to perform a backup manually.
Backing up manually
For a manual backup, the data can be stored on an
end device.
